Join leaders from the California History-Social Science Project, Central Valley Holocaust Network, and Echoes & Reflections for a FREE two-part online workshop series. Teachers will learn about new approaches in teaching about the Holocaust that involve primary source exploration and new discussion strategies.
This session is designed to enhance teachers’ knowledge, capacity, and confidence to teach about the Holocaust, with a specific focus on how and why to teach about the Final Solution and the Einsatzgruppen. Educators will be introduced to pedagogical principles and explore classroom ready assets, visual history testimonies and other resources that examine this aspect of the history. In addition to this exploration, educators will be given time to reflect on existing teaching practices and why and how they will introduce this topic to their students.
This is a project of the California Teachers Collaborative on Holocaust and Genocide Education, established by the JFCS Holocaust Center, with support from the California Department of Education, Marin County Office of Education, and the State of California.
