Cambodian American Studies Model Curriculum Conference

Join us at the Cambodian American Studies Model Curriculum (CASMC) Conference, taking place on January 31st and February 1st, 2025, at the Santa Clara County Office of Education in San Jose, CA. This event will introduce educators to the CASMC, supporting the teaching of Cambodian American history, culture, and traditions in K-12 settings.

The Orange County Department of Education has worked with educators, scholars, and community members to develop this model curriculum, which comprises a collection of primary source documents, planning resources, teaching strategies, professional development activities, and over sixty lesson plans. The Cambodian American Studies Model Curriculum will assist educators in teaching about the histories, cultures, traditions, and refugee experiences of Cambodian Americans.

Stipends are available for teachers from contracted districts.

We look forward to welcoming you to this exciting and culturally enriching event! This conference will support district administrators in implementing the curriculum and K-12 educators in using the curriculum in their classrooms. To get your district signed up to participate in the conference, please contact Kristina Ravo at kravo@sccoe.org.
