In this professional development series, participants will learn about Ethnic Studies from UC Davis’ California History-Social Science Project leaders. Facilitators Dominique Williams and Tuyen Tran will: cover the history of Ethnic Studies (ES); provide an overview of the field of Ethnic Studies; engage participants in essential scholarship connecting ES to student learning and pedagogy; and model sample lessons and curricula. Following an Ethnic Studies introductory workshop there will be opportunities for continued learning, including discussing questions and concerns, addressing potential problems of practice, and a space to collaborate on communication and implementation strategies.
