Coming Soon: CSMP UTK Conference
Join us for our 2024 UTK Conference: Playful Foundations!
Over the past two years, the California Subject Matter Project (CSMP) has been helping design professional development for the rollout of UTK, or Universal Transitional Kindergarten. As a culmination of this work and a celebration of our continued devotion to providing TK curriculum and classroom resources to educators, CSMP is excited to announce its 2024 UTK Conference, “Playful Foundations.” Mary Sandy, Executive Director of the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, and Megan Frankie, Professor of Education at UCLA, will serve as keynote speakers.
“Playful Foundations” is a cross-disciplinary conference focused on play-based, inquiry-centered learning for Transitional Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten students. Educators will be given space to share ideas and resources and will leave with high-quality, play-based, inquiry-centered learning tools for the TK/PK classroom. With California’s UTK program expected to be available to all four-year-olds in the state by the 2025-2026 school year, this conference will provide an excellent opportunity for all educators in TK/PK spaces to develop further capacity for supporting these young learners. TK teachers and teacher leaders are especially encouraged to attend.
The conference will take place on December 3, 2024, from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm at the Yolo County Office of Education. (Panels will run from 8:30 am - 2:15 pm, with the remainder of the day open to networking and collaboration). The cost to attend is $145.
We hope you’ll join us to explore the “Playful Foundations” that make up high-quality PK/TK education! For more information, please visit https://chssp.ucdavis.edu/events/csmp-utk-conference.
