Join the Media Literacy Collaborative to connect and talk with colleagues about how we are starting the new academic year to support student media literacy skills for civic engagement. As the summer ends, we continue to be faced with navigating our chaotic media ecosystem and also with creating meaningful opportunities for our students to learn how to do so as well. As part of this community meet-up, we will discuss:

*How are we navigating our current media ecosystem and where do we get the news?

*What do we know about our students and their news consumption and attitudes?

*How are we approaching media literacy in the classroom to start the year?

*What steps and collaborations might be useful for you and for our community in pursuing these important topics?

When: Wednesday, September 23 4:00-5:00pm  PST

Cost: FREE

Location: Online via ZOOM.
