New Summer Institute!

Join the CHSSP for a week-long summer institute devoted to strengthening civic learning in schools.  In honor of America's Semiquincentennial, history teachers at all levels are invited to explore the roots of America's political traditions and analyze the ways that Americans have worked to claim freedoms over time.  Working alongside leading scholars and colleagues, teachers will engage in rich discussions, develop classroom-ready resources, and deepen their understanding of history and civic education today.

• June 29 - July 3, 2026
• Residential summer institute at UC Davis
• Teachers will recieve a $2,000 stipend plus lodging and meals for completing the summer institute along with four follow-up Zoom workshops during the 2026-27 school year
• Application opens in December!
