Close Reading

Close Reading:

Close reading is mentioned repeatedly in the History Social-Science Framework, yet many History Social-Science instructors are neither familiar with close reading, nor do they feel confident to design a content lesson with close reading embedded.  The session will reference close reading as addressed in the Framework, will highlight the value of facilitating close reading in the HSS classroom, and will also offer opportunity for HSS educators (grades 6-12) to participate in close reading using HSS visual/printed text.  Instruction on close reading design will lay the foundation for classroom implementation.
