Civics / Citizenship (Elementary)

Civics/Citizenship (Elementary): This session will focus on how the themes of civic education, service learning, and citizenship are integrated into instruction at the elementary levels to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to become informed, responsible, and engaged citizens in the 21st century. Topics will include the classroom examples that focus on civics, the sidebars on Civic Engagement in grades k-5, and the suggestions for civic-oriented student activities that are provided throughout the course descriptions.
